Official calling card of the Tzaddik Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Rosenheim, the founder of Agudas Yisroel and its president, with condolences handwritten by him. Ca. 1955.
Handwritten on the card: " משתתף בכל ליבי ונפשי בצער כ"ת נ"י, המקום ינחם את כ’ בתוך שאר אבלי ציון וירושלים, וזכות הנעדר ז"ל תעמוד לזרעו ולזרע זרעו לעולם. בידידות ובאהבה הק’…"
The card is from the time he lived on Achad HaAm St. in his old age, mid-1950s. Bearing the date ’24th of Shevat’.
Moreinu Rabbi Yaakov Rosenheim [1871-1966] the founder of the worldwide Agudas Yisroel which changed the face of Chareidi Jewry and saved thousands from leaving religion. For this he was titled ‘Moreinu" (our teacher) by the Chofetz Chaim, the Imrei Emes, Rabbi Chaim Ozer, Rabbi Yisroel of Chortekov and Rabbi Meir Shapiro.
