Invitation to a zealotry and protest meeting against Pritzus Hadas in the Holy Land and Jerusalem, signed by the leader of Neturei Karta, Rabbi Amram Blau. Jerusalem, 1959.
Rabbi Amram ben Rabbi Yitzchak Shlomo Blau (1900-1974), was known for his zeal for Dvar Hashem and the many protests and demonstrations he organized in Jerusalem for Shemirat Shabbas, Kahsruth, Tzni’us and more/ Founded the Chevras Chaim, which eventually became known as Neturei Karta. As the leader of Neturei Karta, he adopted an uncompromising separatist policy. He refused to acknowledge the state of Israel, refused to receive governmental budgets and more. He was also known as the organizer of hostile demonstrations against Chilul Shabbat, the opening of mixed swimming pools in Jerusalem and autopsies, during which he was often beaten or arrested.
