Thus you shall usher him to Torah and the Chuppa, and good deeds.
Iggeres Kodesh sent by the Lubavitcher Rebbe on the occasion of the birth of a boy and the Bris. 1966.
The letter was sent to the Gaon Rabbi Shlomo Noach Karol, Rabbi of Moshav Chemed, and his wife, the Rebbetzin, for the birth of their son and his bris, where he was named Yisrael Dov.
The Rebbe blesses in unique wording: May it be the will of the blessed G-D that just as they have brought him in the covenant, so will they bring him to Torah and the Chuppa, and to good deeds, and that you should raise him in prosperity.
The Rebbe signs in his own hand, and adds a correction earlier where he changes the word(s) ‘and you should raise him’ to ‘and they should raise him’.
[1] Aerogramme letterhead. The entire letter was specifically typed. The Rebbe’s signature. Fold markings, Postal stamps. Very good condition.
