Signature of Maran the Gaon the Chofetz Chaim, with a gloss handwritten by him, on a book from his library: Shulchan Atzai Shitim. Berlin, 1762.
An important basic book on Hilchos Shabbat to which the Chofetz Chaim refers dozens of times in his book Mishnah Berurah, with his handwritten signature, from his important library, and with a single gloss handwritten by him.
Sefer Shulchan Atzei Shitim, authored by the holy Gaon author of Mirkevet Hamishneh, Rabbi Shlomo Av Beis Din of Helmo. Printed in Berlin 1762.
On the title page: ‘להר"ר ישראל מאיר הכהן’ and before it, additional notations. On leaf 47, column 4, a handwritten comment by him ‘נשמט כאן ואיתא לעיל’, this due to errors in the binding of the sheets noted by Maran the Chofetz Chaim.
In addition, there are additional handwritten corrections of single letters; therefore it cannot be determined with certainty that they were done by the Chofetz Chaim himself.
Enclosed is confirmation by an expert.
No pagination. Stains. Moth perforations and insignificant blemishes due to wear. Some professional restoration of the title page and additional leaves. New, elegant leather binding. Good condition.
