‘From Hashem, the G-d of my holy ancestors, may his reward be full to be blessed and receive all the wishes and desires of his heart for goodness and blessing’ a long letter, a rarity – entirely handwritten by Admor Rabbi Yochanan of Rachmestrivk, with a mention of the marriage of his son Rabbi Yisrael Mordechai of Rachmestrivk, Jerusalem 1951.
The letter, from the first year of the leadership of Rabbi Yochan’che of Rachmestrivk, son of the holy Rabbi David of Rachmestrivk, was sent to the Gaon Rabbi Shmuel Kipnis, head of the Rabbinical Aid Board and founder of the ‘Otzar Haposkim’ neighborhood of the Rabbinical Housing.
In his letter, he states that he is preparing for the marriage of his son – i.e., the famed holy Admor Rabbi Yisrael Mordechai of Rachmestrivk – his successor.
The letter is particularly long and is extremely rare, due to the fact that it is all in his holy handwriting and bears his full signature and seal.
In subsequent years, most, if not all of his letters were written by his sons and were only signed by him.
The Rebbe blesses with all types of good, "From Hashem, the G-d of my holy ancestors, may his reward be full to be blessed and receive all the wishes and desires of his heart for goodness and blessing” and more words of blessing and love and friendship.
Rabbi Yochanan of Rachmestrivk [1900 – 1982] was one of the greatest Tzaddikim of the previous generation. With the modesty and humility inherited from his ancestors, he led his community in Jerusalem, the holy city. Even the Tzaddikim of the generation sent to him ifor blessings and advice, especially in all matters of mentioning the ill for healing and changing of names and all the heritage in that subject. A huge and extreme Masmid. He toiled in Avodas Hashem with all his heart and at the end of his days there were many who came to huddle in the shadow of his holiness and to become awakened by his holy Avoda and to draw from his well of blessings.
