Manuscript, autographic work, Chessed LeAvraham, commentary on Mishnayos Seder Zera’im, handwritten by the author, Rabbi Avraham ben Rabbi Yechiel Av Beis Din of Tomoshpil – a manuscript that was studied by the Rav Rabbi Yitzchak Meir of Zinkov, who stated, based on this manuscript, that its author studied Torah Lishmah – textual variations compared to the printed version – Tomoshpil, 1840-1841


The commentary in this work is on the words of the Mishnah, Rabbi Ovadya of Bertenura and the Tosfos Yom Tov.  The work is written in clear language. Fine orderly script. 

The Gaon Rabbi Avraham the son of Rabbi Yechiel (passed away in 1853),   was a sharp Rav and a Chassid famed for his Torah and piety. For thirty years he served as Av Beis Din of Tomoshpil (Ukraine). Author of Sefer Chessed LeAvraham on Mishnayos Seder Zera’im. This work, on Seder Zeraim, was published only in 1884, approx. thirty years after his passing. 

The book was approbated by the Tzaddikim of Ruzhin, Rabbi David of Tolna and additional Gedolei Hador including Rabbi Yaakov Weidenfeld and his father. 

Printed at the beginning of the book is a foreword by the author’s son-in-law, praising his in-law. There it is told that the author passed away in the presence of Rabbi Yitzchak Meir of Zinkov (the son and successor of the Ohev Yisroel of Apta), who studied this manuscript and said it indicates that its author studied Torah Lishmah and was Yereh Shamayim. : "ובחבורו הדין עיין בעינא פקיחא ענין הביאור של האי פירקא, ואמר בזה הלשון: מן הספר הזה ניכר שבעל המחבר למד תורה לשמה, והיה ירא שמים, ועיר טאמשפיל לא ידעו מה אבדו מעירם… ". 

3-127, [1] leaves, The first and last two leaves are missing. Mispagination to leaves 50-51. 22 cm. Good condition. Some moth perforations. Stains. Renewed, semi-parchment binding.
