The personal copy of the Tzaddik Rabbi Nachum Berenyu of Sadigura and his succeeding son Rabbi Sholom Yosef of Mielnitz
On the flyleaf, the full handwritten signature of Rabbi Nachum Dober Friedman. There is also a note of ‘מאוצר הספרים’.
On the title page, stamps of ‘נחום דובער פרידמאנן – קנין כספי’ and a stamp of his son: ‘אוצר הספרים של מו"ה שלום יוסף פריעדמאן מיעלניצא’.

Rabbi Nachum Dov Ber Friedman [1844-1883] the son of Rabbi Sholom Yosef of Ruzhin and the son-in-law of Rabbi Avraham Yaakov of Sadigura, a great Torah and Chassidus Gaon. Lived his entire life in the Chatzer of his father-in-law in Sadigura. His large library contained many rare books and manuscripts and was one of the most important and renowned libraries of his time. The Gaon author of ‘Yad Yehuda’ the Rav of Sadigura writes in his foreword to his Sefer ‘And when I came here to Sadigura I found what my soul loved in the house of my relative the Tzaddik Rav the son of the holy Nachum Dov who has a collection of rare books by ancient authors which is unparalleled. Used to stamp his books with three stamps – Minchat Shai (gift), Yerushat Avot (inheritance), Kinyan Kaspi (bought with my money).
His succeeding son Rabbi Sholom Yosef [1871-1927] served as the Admor of Mielnitz; his son Rabbi Moshe Aharon succeeded him as Admor there. Was famed for his knowledge of medicine. By his first marriage, he was the son-in-law of the Or Yisroel of Sadigura and by his second one, of Rabbi Mordechai of Zlotipoli.
