In a dream I shall speak with him! The process for conducting a She’eilat Chalom by  the Ari, and a prayer to be said after saying the bedtime Kri’at Shema, in the sacred handwriting of the author of the prayer, Rabbi Meir Eisenstadter, Av Beis Din of Ungvar, the author of "Imeri Esh" (Mahara"m A"sh) one of the great disciples of the "Chatam Sofer" – the leading rabbi of Hungary at the time.

In the upper part of the page, the Mahara"m A"sh copied, in his own handwriting, the "Seder She’eilat Chalom" which was first printed in the Sefer "Likutei HaShas" of the Ari. At the beginning is written: "Take a blank paper in your hand after immersing and fasting and say on it the entire psalm ‘Lamenatze’ach al hashminit’… May it be your will… that you answer my question with a dream that is so and so in explicit writing and clearly explained on this piece of paper that is in my hand, which I will place tonight…".

At the bottom of the page is written a prayer composed by Mahara"m A"sh "which he had written that it be said after the bedtime Kri’at Shema", printed in the sefer "Zichron Yehuda" (Munkatch 1900) page 72/b.

Rabbi Meir Eisenstadter (1780-1852) was one of the earliest and greatest disciples of the Chatam Sofer, back when he resided in Mattersdorf. He was the son-in-law of Rabbi David Deutsch, author of "Ohel David". Circa 1807 he began to serve as Av Beit Din in Baya. In 1817 he was appointed rabbi of Yarmut, where he served for nearly twenty years. In 1835 he began to serve as the rabbi of Ungvar, where he served until his passing in 1852. In Ungvar he presided over a large and important yeshiva, and raised outstanding students who were among the greatest and most important rabbis of Hungary in the generation after him, such as the "Machne Chaim", the "Menuchat Asher", the "Beit HaYotzer" and the "Erech Sha"Y". In his yeshiva also studied the great rebbes of Hungary, Rabbi Tzvi Hirsh of Liska and the "Imrei Yosef" of Spinka. Of his writings were printed the responsa "Imrei E"Sh" on all four volumes of the Shulchan Aruch, his chiddushim on the Shas were printed in his sefer  "Imeri Bina" and his sermons in the sefer  "Imeri Yosher".

In the sefer "Zichron Yehuda" is told that his rabbi
"the Gaon author of Chatam Sofer said of him that he did not have a disciple who enlightened his teachers such as he". His teacher the Chatam Sofer instructed him to begin studying Kabalah from the Sefer "ShefaTal" when he was still unmarried. It is said about him that in the year 1831 he lost his eyesight for one year, and during that year he learned all his studies by heart due to his tremendous memory. his teacher the Chatam Sofer,   who got to see this with his own eyes, expressed his astonishment and amazement, and in hiss great humility said that had he not had to carry the the yoke of the rabbinate of Pressburg, he could also have been proficient in the Shas like his student Rabbi Meir. Obviously, during that time the the Mahara"m A"sh could not write. But after that year he was cured and regained his eyesight and returned to writing chiddushim and responsa. When his teacher saw his disciple’s handwriting again, he made a blessing, saying
"Blessed is the one who enlightens the eyes of the wise."
