Letters of greeting and blessing, sent by the Rebbetzin Mrs. Menucha Twersky of Koidnov Tomospol, spouse of the Rebbe, Rabbi Chaim Moshe Yehoshua Schneerson-Twersky of Koidnov. Brooklyn, early 1940’s.

The Rebbe of Tomospol was a scion of a dynasty whose Rebbes were direct patrilineal descendants of the Ba’al Hatanya. The Lubavitcher Rebbe took part in his funeral, and came to be Menachem the mourners. He was buried behind the grave of the Rayatz.

The letters were written by her, in Yisddish, on her husband’s letterhead, and were sent to a friend and relative. They include blessings for health and satisfaction from the children, as well as details about her life in Brooklyn, near the home of the Rayatz, who had just in those years arrived in the US and lived in their area.

Please see the Hebrew listing for a biography of the Rebbe, her husband.

[2] letters. Each on a different letterhead of her husband. Her handwriting and signature. Fold marks, slight wear. Good condition.
