An important and historic letter! Maran the Mekor Baruch of Sert-Vizhnitz, in a special and urgent letter of request to Agudat Yisrael in Tel Aviv, seeking to organize and arrange for the exiles and the residents of the detention camps in Cyprus maximus and wine for Passover 1948 – in the days of the British mandate.

Letter written in his own handwriting and with his holy signature, to the Association of Agudat Yisrael in Tel Aviv: “Since many people who are stringent in keeping the word of hashem who reside in the camps in Cyprus have turned to me requesting that they be sent Shmura Matzos and strictly kosher wine for Passover I hereby request to do everything that is possible.
The Rebbe notes that should they not receive Shmura Matzos and stringently kosher wine, they will not be able to perform the mitzvah as required. The Rebbe signs with his holy blessings “Awaiting the salvation of Hashem soon and blesses them with a happy and kosher Passover” and signs with his holy handwriting in full his name and his father’s name.
