Long, unique, and phenomenal approbation from Maran, the pillar of ruling, Rabbi Shmuel HaLevi Wosner, author of ‘Shevet HaLevi’. Rabbi and Av Beis Din of Zichron Meir and Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshiva Chachmei Lublin. Given on the wonderous commentary ‘Tov Yerushalayim’ on the Ramban’s commentary on Chumash. Bnei Brak, 1981.
This long and marvelous approbation is extremely rare, even among Maran the Shevet HaLevi’s unique approbations. It was given on the commentary ‘Tov Yerushalayim’ and ‘Pnei Yerushalayim’, authored by the Gaon Rabbi Tuvya Liberman, author of ‘Lev Tov’ on Chovas HaLevavos, which also received an approbation from Rav Wosner.
Maran writes: “My heart is happy and my honor rejoices, and since the words of the Ramban are a root of the true belief, and Maran the Chasam Sofer writes in his holy will, and include n them all the basic concepts of the Torah’s rulings and innumerable foundations throughout the Torah, and it is well-known what the Rivash said, that all the words of the Ramban are like glowing coals of fire, and his teachings delve deeply into the basics, the Halacha, and the secrets of Hashem, as is explained in the name of the holy Arizal… and I have no doubt that if Hashem helped him to complete [expounding] all the teachings of the Ramban in both his commentaries,
he has done a great good in this, to bring to life the teachings of a giant of the Rishonim, whose words are the absolute truth of Hashem’s Torah. And I bless him that the will of Hashem will be successful in his hands”.
Maran signs using an unusual closing:
“such are the words of all those who weary themselves in the true teachings – awaiting the mercy of Hashem.”
