Chiddushim on Parshat Matos and the issues of vows and oaths, explained in the light of Mussar. Handwritten by Maran the great Gaon Rabbi Yisrael Yaakov Knievsky, the Kehilos Yaakov, known as the Steipler.

Maran deals with the topic of someone who has sworn to fulfil a Mitzvah, and explains that most people who are not active sinners only transgress because they create an excuse and find crooked reasoning. For the person’s evil inclination tempts him and he seeks to fulfill these urges. Therefore he invents all kinds of doubts and situations.
