Manuscript, Signature of the Rishon LeTzion, the “Yisa Beracha”, on his approbation to Rabbi Refael Moshe Elbaz’s Sefer ‘Halacha Le’Moshe’. Jerusalem, 1900.


“So are the words of the shepherd of holies in the holy city of Yerushalayim, may she be rebuilt and Rishon LeTzion who signs in honor of the Torahand its learners and in honor of the author the Rabbi of blessed memory.” – a letter of approbation to the Sefer ‘Halacha Le’Moshe’ by ‘the angel Refael Moshe Elbaz’. Written by a scribe and signed in the holy handwriting of the Rishon LeTzion, Rabbi Yaakov Shaul Elyashar.

The letter was written by a scribe and signed by the Rishon LeTzion. On the heading of the page the scribe wrote: “Approbation of the light of the diaspora, the great golden crown, our master, the great shepherd, Chief Rabbi, complete in knowledge, the famous Gaon, Rishon LeTzion Rabbi YiS”A Beracha and forever his name be praised”. This approbation was later printed in the Sefer Halacha Le’Moshe in 1901.
