This is a forceful letter, written by the holy Tzaddikim of Husyatin, Maran Rabbi Yisrael of Husyatin and his son-in-law, the Oholei Yaakov of Husyatin, to the Chief Rabbis of Tel Aviv – the Gaon Rabbi Isser Yehuda Untermann and the Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Moshe Toledano, where they clearly state their opinion against separating and dividing the community.
“We have always opposed any aspiration that might destroy the unity of the nation in general, and to any action that aims to crumble the unity of the community specifically. Therefore we greatly welcome any action that would annul the separate Shechita, and remove the stumbling blocks of chaos in the field of Kashrus. We are ready to assist in everything that we can to accomplish the decisions that will be accepted.
Begging forgiveness and with much appreciation.”
The letter is written on official stationary of Rabbi Ysrael of Husyatin, and at the top is added the stamp of his son-in-law ‘Yaakov son of Yitzchak of Bohush’. At the end of the letter, both of their signatures.
