Postcard from the Gaon Rabbi Yitzchak Tzvi Sofer, author of “Mispar HaSofer” (the Rabbi of Timișoara) to the famous researcher R’ Shlomo (Solomon) Buber – Paks, 1905.
In the letter, Rabbi Yitzchak Tzvi requests from Rabbi Buber that he send copies of the Medrash that he had published to the “Ateret Bachurim” society.
The Gaon Rabbi Yitzchak Tzvi Sofer (1888-1966), Rabbi of the Orthodox community in Timișoara (Temeshvar). Was a disciple of the “Da’as Sofer”. Known as “the Rav of Timișoara”, officiated as a member of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah of Agudas Yisroel.
This postcard was written in his youth, when he resided (as an orphaned child and bochur) in Paks, at the home of his uncle and distinct Rebbe, Rabbi Yisroel Mordechai Efrayim Fishel Sofer, Av Beis Din of Paks.
