Postcard signed by the Gaon Rabbi Chaim Yehuda Ehrenreich, Av Beis Din of Dęba and Humenné, editor of the monthly periodical “Otzar HaChaim” – Humenné, Nissan (April) 1935.
The postcard is typed. The contents are an inquiry to the offices of the Cheif Rabbinate of Tel Aviv–Yaffo regarding an inheritance.
The Gaon Rabbi Chaim Yehuda Ehrnreich (1887–1942) was a disciple of the Geonim of Hungary – the “Shevet Sofer”, the “Arugos HaBosem”, and the “Ma’asay Lamelech”. Served as Av Beis Din of Holesov in Moravia (from 1915), Dęba in Transylvania (from 1923) and in Humenné in Slovakia (from 1930). Was an admirer of the “Minchas Elazar” of Munkacz. Between the years 1925 and 1938 was editor of the renowned Torah monthly Ötzar HaChaim”.
