Rabbi Meir Eisenstadter (1780–1852), from the first and foremost of the Chatam Sofer’s disciples. Son-in-law of Rabbi David Deutsch, author of ‘Ohel David’. Served as Av Beis Din of several illustrious communities. Headed a Yeshiva with hundreds of students. Many of the leading rabbis of Hungary were his disciples, including Rabbi Asher Anshil Yungreiz (author of ‘Menuchas Asher’ the Rav of Csenger), Rabbi Shlomo Yehuda Tabak (author of ‘Erech Shai’), the holy Imrei Yosef of Spinka, and more.
