Letter of supplication for supporters of Torah and assisting Yeshivos, handwritten and signed by the Gaon Rabbi Yoel Wolf Glattstein, Rabbi of Helmetz and its environs. 1929.


The letter was sent to rabbis and donors, lay leaders and persons of importance: R’ Moshe Klepter, R’ Avraham Tzvi Friedman, and others from the management of Kolel Ungarin.

The Gaon Rabbi Yoel Wolf Glattstein (1871–May 29, 1944), Rabbi of Helmetz and the environs of Badarag. His influence spread to dozens of towns and villages in the area. Born to his father, the Gaon Rabbi Shimon, studied under the Gaon author of ‘Neta Sorek’. Authored the Sefer Ńachlat Yoel Ze’ev’, and other compositions, which were lost during WWII. Was murdered Sanctifying Hashem’s name together with his entire community.
