Handwritten letter by the Gaon Rabbi Yehoshua Zelig Ruch, Rosh Yeshiva of Łomża to Maran the Maharitz Dushinsky and his Beis Din in Yerushalayim. 1938.
The Gaon Rabbi Yehoshua Zelig Ruch writes to the Beis Din of the Master Shepherd, the holy Maharitz Dushinsky, requesting and beseeching for the young man, Yitzchak son of Yaakov Pinsky of Lechowitz (Lyakhavichy), who wishes to shelter in the Yeshivah in Yerushalayim. “His honor will obtain much goodwill from him, for he is one in ten thousand, and it must also be known that his situation has brought him… here he encounters great disturbances to his continuation of his holy endeavor to assiduously toil in Torah study, thus he must travel to our holy land”, and therefore requesting that they procure for him the necessary licenses.
Rabbi Yehoshua Zelig Ruch, “the Prodigy of Rokiškis” (1880–1942) Rosh Yeshiva of Łomża, together with his brother-in-law Rabbi Yechiel Meir Gordon. From the greatest disciples of the Zeide of Slabodka, who introduced the study of Mussar to the Yeshivos of Lithuania, Telz and Mir.
