A letter of blessings from Rebbe Rabbi Ben Zion Walkenfeld of Lizhensk – New York. 1942.
A congratulatory letter from one of the Rebbes who lived in the United States between the World Wars, The holy Rabbi Ben Zion, son of the holy Rabbi Elimelech Walkenfeld, grandson of Tzaddik Yesod Olam Rabbi Naftali of Lizhensk and a scion of Tzaddik Yesod Olam, the holy Rebbe the Noam Elimelech of Lizhensk.
The letter, in his handwriting and with his signature, was sent to the Gaon Rabbi Zvi Aharon Herzberg and in it he blesses him ‘that you will have the privilege of seeing much Nachas, Torah, and greatness and raise them in peace of mind’.
Rabbi ben Zion Walkenfeld was born circa 1865 to his father Rabbi Elimelech Walkenfeld from the descendants of Rabbon Shel Yisrael, Rabbi Elimelech of Lizhensk. Rabbi Ben Zion was also the grandson of the great advocate Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Barditchov, the Holy Magid of Nadvorna, Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac of Ziditchoiv and the Bnei Yisaschar. Passed away in 1943.
