The personal copy of the Rashash’ son – Bris Avraham, by Rabbi Avraham Amarilio. Salonik, [1796]. First edition. Rare.

With an ownership notation handwritten by Rabbi Chizkiyahu Yitzchak Mizrachi Didie Sharabi, the son of Rabbi Sholom Sharabi Mizrachi, the Rashash.
[1], 124 leaves. The last leaf is missing. On the title page, the Rashash’ son wrote that the Sefer was given to him as a gift by the author’s wife: "מאת אשת חבר הרב המחבר ז"ל זצוק"ל ישלם ה’ פעלה. הצעיר חזקיהו יצחק מזרי דידיע שרעבי ס"ט יום ה’ כ"ג אדר שנת ושמר"ו לפ"ק דרך ה’ לעשות צדקה ומשפט".
The Sage, Rabbi Avraham Amarilio – a descendant of a family of Spanish exiles which settled in Salonika. Was a student of the yeshiva of Rabbi Yitzchak Karasho in Salonika and served as Rav in Trikala. In 1770, immigrated to Eretz Yisroel and settled in Jerusalem. On his gravestone, on the Mount of Olives, is was written that "The Chassid Rav who suffered torments Rabbi Avraham Amarilio" passed away in Sivan 1784. After his passing, his Sefer Bris Avraham was published containing Drushim and eulogies and a compilation of innovations on the Shas and on the commentaries of Rashi and the Re’em. His widow, Rivkah, funded the publication of the Sefer after their son’s death, to commemorate her husband.
Rabbi Chzikiyahu Yitzchak Mizrachi Didie Sharabi – also known as the Chai Bashemesh (passed away in 1808) – the only son of the Rashash, Rabbi Sholom Sharabi, and the son-in-law of Rabbi Yitzchak Kovo (the first). Inherited the many manuscripts by his father the Rashash and wrote a foreword to the Siddur published by his father with Kavanas Sefiras HaOmer. In 1796, he was sent as a Shadar of the Jewish community of Hebron to North Africa, where he distributed his father’s Siddur. Was a member of the group of Kabbalists of Jerusalem and in 1802, after the passing of Rabbi Yom Tov Algazi, succeeded him as the Rosh Yeshiva of the Beis El Kabbalists’ yeshiva. Rabbi Chizkiyahu Sharabi was laid to rest on the Mount of Olives and was eulogized by the Rishon LeZion Rabbi Yosef Chazan. His son, Rabbi Raphael Sharabi, succeeded him as Rosh Yeshiva.
