Kvittel, handwritten by the holy Rebbe the Imrei Sofer of Erlau, with the names of all his children. 1974.
The holy Rebbe of Erlau presented this Kvittel to one of the Tzaddikim of the generation, apparently the ‘Chelkas Yehoshua’ of Biala, in Tevet of 5734 (Jan. 1974), and presented a Pidyon of 50 Lira, as noted on the margin of the Kvittel by the Tzaddik that received it.
The handwriting appears to be that of the Chelkas Yehoshua, but there are too few letters to make an absolute identification.
The Kvittel lists the name of the Erlauer Rebbe and that of his Rebbetzin, followed immediately by the names of two sons who had not married yet. After that are listed the rest of their sons, with their wives and children, in order of age. First is named the current Rebbe of Erlau, Rabbi Moshe ben Miriam Shlita and his Rebbetzin, with no mention of children, as apparently there were none yet.
