Letter from the administrators of the Mir Yeshiva Ketanah, headed by the Gaon Rabbi Avraham Tzvi Kamai, Rosh Yeshiva of Mir, sent to Maran Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzinsky of Vilna. Mir, 1935.


On one side of the letter, the administrators request that Maran, the immense Gaon Rav Chaim Ozer send them their needed budget. ‘if we do not receive it as soon as possible, three families will be forced to literally suffer hunger and cold…’

On the opposite side of the page, the great Gaon, Maran Rabbi Avraham Tzvi Kamai adds to their request: ‘I, too, send greetings to his honor, the crown of Israel, Maran the true Gaon, master of the diaspora etc. our teacher Rabbi Chaim Ozer Shlita. With greetings of love and proper respect, I beseech on behalf of the Roshei Mesivta of the Yeshiva Ketana here.
Hashem will support him and fulfil all his wishes for good as is the wish of his pure soul and that of his friend.’

Maran the great Gaon Rabbi Avraham Tzvi Kamai, HYD (1860-1942) Rosh Yeshiva of Mir and Rabbi of the city of Mir. Son and disciple of the Gaon Rabbi Eliyahu Baruch. Was murdered in the war together with the entire community.
