‘And we hope that from this Day of Judgement Hashem will rip up the decree and open for us a way to be saved from here’ – important and historic letter handwritten by the famous Gaon Rabbi Gershon Libman, from the Gedolim of Novhardok, and rebuilders of the Torah world in France post WWII, sent to the Gaon Rabbi Zeidel Simiatizky, member of the Moetzes Gedolei Hatorah in London, 1946.

In his letter, sent from Zeilsheim, Frankfurt, Rabbi Gershon talks about the students of the Yeshiva, and of the days of Rosh Hashana which had passed well. ‘Rabbi Schechter was our Ba’al Mussaf, and for the Holy Day he might be in Windsheim, where all those who came from Lodz are and they are, thank G-D, set up well both physically and spititually, and are learning with great diligence.
And we hope that from this Day of Judgement Hashem will rip up the decree and open for us a way to be saved from here’
