Will document containing important historical details about the “Me’ah She’arim” neighborhood that existed in Tel Aviv and was later destroyed, 1936.

Includes the signature of the Dayan Rabbi Yerucham Fishel Berenstein, “Reb Fishel Dayan”.

The Me’ah She’arim neighborhood of Tel Aviv was adjacent to the city of Jaffa, and was built circa early 1920. The neighborhood suffered from riots and hostile activities of the Arabs in Jaffa and the Menashia neighborhood, leading to a slow abandonment by its residents.
Most of the residents were strictly orthodox and pious Jews.

This item is a deed of a will written by a Jew named Yeshaya Greenberg, in which he provides specific details regarding houses and courtyards belonging to his estate both in this neighborhood and in additional places in Eretz Yisrael, such as Har Canaan and more.

The will was presented before the Dayanim of Jerusalem to be ratified, and it is signed with a short signature of the Dayan Rabbi Fishel Berenstein, and next to that the initials of Rabbi Shmuel Aharon Shazuri weber, secretary of the Chief Rabbinate of Israel and an esteemed resident of Jerusalem.
