Printed receipt, signed in the holy hand of the Gaon Rabbi Yitzchak Yerucham Diskin, son of Maran the Seraph of Brisk, Rabbi Yehushua Leib Diskin, for money received on behalf of Maran the Gaon Rabbi Shmuel Salant, Rabbi of Yerushalayim. 1909.
This is one of the last receipts received by Maran the Gaon Rabbi Shmuel Salant, who passed away about a month later.
The receipt, for 2 Dollars, on behalf of the famous orphanage named after the Maharil Diskin, which were sent by the onors R’ Moshe Fisher and his son-in-law R’ Reuven Levin through Rabbi Eliyahu Kaplan – arriving for “The Rabbi, the Gaon Rabbi Shmuel Salant Shlita”.
The receipt is printed in three languages: Hebrew, English, and Yiddish.
Maran Rabbi Yitzchak Yeruham Diskin signs “So says Yitzchak Yerucham son of the Gaon, the pious Rabbi Moshe Yehoshua Yehuda Leib Diskin”. Printed at the margin is his address and name as manager of the institution.
