Proclamation calling for a day of prayer and outcry, signed by the Geonim and Torah leaders, members of the Badatz of Yerushalayim, headed by Maran the Raavad Rabbi Pinchas Epstein. 1969.
The proclamation is signed by Maran Rabbi Epstein and with him is the great Gaon Rabbi David Jungreis, as wellas the holy Geonim Rabbi Moshe Dushinsky and Maran Rabbi Moshe Aryeh Freund – later the Gaavad of Yerushalayim.
The proclamation states: “We shudder at the state of Tznius which has become extremely eroded, it is impossible to walk in the streets and the fire of immodesty continues spreading unchecked due to our sins, who would have thought this”.
The Rabbonim write that this is a time when we are in desperate need of mercy of heaven against our enemies from without and within.
