Handwritten postcard from the Gaon Rabbi Yitzchak Tigerman, Av Beis Din of Tshaba HYD – sent to the Gaon Rabbi Efrayim Fischel Sofer, Gaon Av Beis Din of Budapest – Tshaba, May, 1934.


The content deals with someone who wanted to put up a tombstone in the Tshaba cemetery that did not conform to the common customs.

The Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Yitzchak Tigerman (~1890-1944) was a disciple of the “Da’as Sofer”. In 1913 he was appointed Av Beis Din of Gava as a successor to his father-in-law. In 1925 was appointed Av Beis Din of Tiszalok, and in 1928 Av Beis Din of Bekescsaba. Murdered in Auschwitz on June 29, 1944 (8 Tammuz, 5704).
