Manuscript with additions to Birkat Hamazon for a Bris, per the customs of German Jews. Germany, circa 19th century.

Manuscript. Piyut for a Bris ‘Hayom tzivita li’yedidcha bechirecha’, by Rabbi Efraim of Bonn. This piyyut is quoted in the Yaavetz’s siddur, where he writes: “In the Ashkenazic community they set this piyyut in middle of Birkat Hamazon, and it is part of the customs that supersede Halacha”.

On the last page are some rhymes that the Ashkenazic communities used to insert into the Bentching: “מגדיל ישועות מלכו ירויח, ועושה חסד למשיחו משיח, ודוד ולזרעו ברכה להניח”.

[6] pp. Square, calligraphic handwriting with diacritics, in black and res ink. Beginning of the Piyut is missing.
No cover, loose spine. Stains, moth damage. Fair condition.
