Chiddushim handwritten by the famous and immense Gaon Rabbi Itzele of Ponhevezh

The famous Gaon Rabbi Yitzchak Yaakov Rabinowitz (1854-1914) was one of the deciples of the “Beis Halevi” and the “Gadol” of Minsk. For two years he was the Chavruta of the Gaon Rav Chaim of Brisk. During the years 1889-1894 he headed “Yeshiva Knesset Yisrael” – Slabodka, but resigned due to his opposition to the Mussar movement. In 1894 he was appointed Av Beis Din of Ponhevezh, and from 1909 headed a “Kibbutz” of Bochurim, whom he instructed in his unique method of learning, known for its depth and meticulousness; many of them became famous Gedolim and educators. One of his distinct disciples was the famous Gaon Rabbi Naftali Trop, Rosh Yeshiva of Radin.
