A postcard from the holy Gaon Rabbi Ysrael Chaim Kaplan. 1935. Includes a mention of the Brisker Rov.


In the letter he lists several requests for monetary issues pertaining to the Yeshiva.

The famous holy Gaon Rabbi Yisrael Chaim Kaplan (1895-1970) scion of one of the prominent LIthuanina Torah families between the World Wars. His brother was the famous Gaon Rabbi Elazar Zev Kaplan, Mashgiach in the Chofetz Chaim’s Yeshiva in Radin. Remnant of generations of Mussar giants, Geonim, and Yir’ei Shamayim. A disciple of the Chofetz Chaim and Rav Yerucham, the Mashgiach of Mir, and later became the son-in-law of the Mashgiach of Mir. After the passing of the Imrei Moshe of Brisk, Rabbi Yisrael Chaim was appointed Rosh Yeshiva in the Yeshiva Gedola of Brisk. After the war he was appointed Mashgiach of Beis Medrash Elyon in Monsey. His son-in-law is the great Gaon Rabbi Baruch Ber Povarsky, and his sons have also taken positions in the Torah world.
