achzor I, as per the customs of the Ashkenazi community, elucidated and translated into German. Aharon ben Tzvi Hirsch press, Homburg, 1737.

Includes prayers for weekdays and Shabbat, the High-holy days, and Selichot.
The page that should have preceded pages 61-62 was instead mis-bound after them.


Most of he Machzor follows the style of Frankfurt am Main, and there are some additions an changes based on the other Ashkenazi customs. Selichot and other prayers ‘as per the customs of other communities’ were printed on the last page. Print year is based on what is written in the approbation of ‘Rabbi Yaakov Cohen (Papirash) of Prague, residing in Frankfurt am Main’ The translation is printed in Tzor font.

[3], 3-44, 60, [1], 63-178, 14, [6], 15-128, [1] pp. ancient leather and wood cover with defects. Front cover is loose. Moth holes mainly in the cover and the beginning and ending pages. Stains. Wide margins. Of the two buckles only the leather straps and half a buckle are left. One page bound out of order. Torn flyleaf. Fair-good condition.
