Scholarly letter from the great Gaon Rabbi Yechiel Matisyahu Dvis, author of “Matas Melech”, to the Chazon Ish – debate on the Chazon Ish’s writings on tractate Bava Kama – Tevet, 5710 (Jan. 1950).


In the opening to the letter, Rabbi Davis refers to the Chazon Ish with lofty titles: “Rabbi of Rabbis, from the remnants to which Hashem calls, the true Gaon, Rabbi Avraham Yeshaya Karelitz author of ‘Chazon Ish’”. He continues by telling that he received the volume of Chazon Ish on Bava Kama from the Gaon Rabbi Isser Zalmen Meltzer. Most of the letter Is a negotiation of one of the Chiddushim in the Sefer.
