Two significant handwritten letters, describing the efforts made by the Gaon and Tzaddik Rabbi Avraham Kalmanowitz to obtain support for Va’ad Hayeshivos in Lithuania from the residents of Eretz Yisrael. 1934.
Two letters sent by Maran the Gaon Rabbi Avraham Kaalmanowitz on occasion of his important visit to the Holy Land in 1934, for the purpose of collecting money for Va’ad Hayeshivos in Lithuania.
The letters were sent to Maran the immense Gaon Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzinsky of Vilna and to the Central Va’ad Hayeshivos in Vilna. In them he stresses the refreshing and surprising innovation, that, in contrast to previous generations, the residents of eretz Yisrael, especially the philanthropic and well-off people there, will support and donate to the people of the diaspora in this financially difficult time in Europe and especially in Lithuania.
Please see the Hebrew listing for biographical information on Rabbi Kalmanowitz.
