Letter of blessings and pure vision, entirely handwritten by Maran the great Gaon, the Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Eliezer Menachem Man Shach, Rosh Yeshiva of Ponhevich and one of the leaders of Orthodox Jewry, to a public contest organized by ‘Degel Yerushalayim’.
The letter, handwritten and signed by Rav Shach, was sent to the organizers of the Halacha contest, headed by Rabbi Menachem Porush. Rav Shach explains that it will be difficult for him to attend the event itself, however, “my heart is with youand I bless you that may it be the will that all will rise in the study of Torah and become giants of Torah and awe”.
At the start of the letter he notes that this contest is being held in memory of the Gaon Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld, Zecher Tzaddik Livracha, the Rabbi of Yerushalayim, and it is done in a worthy time to instill in the youth the knowledge of his greatness in Torah and pure piety, and his clear vision, and that this will be a guide to us to strengthen in the study of Torah.
