This edition of Tanya – the survivors’ edition, Munich, 1947, was printed by the Lubavitcher Rebbe specially to be distributed amongst the survivors. This, based on the order of his father-in-law, the Rebbe Rayatz. To this edition he enclosed, for the first time, the preface dated 20 Av, 5707 (Aug. 6, 1947).
