Letter on matters of charity, by Rabbi Yechiel Fischel Eisenbach, with additions in the handwriting of Rabbi Yeshaya Asher Zelig Margolis and Rabbi Elimelech Elazar Ehrenberg, from the finest of Yerushalayim. Jerusalem, 1968.
In the letter, addressed to the management of the “Ezras Torah” charity organization in the US, Rabbi Eisenbach describes his financial situation, noting that he is about to marry off his son, and requests assistance with the marriage expenses.
After this, Rabbi Yeshaya Asher Zelig Margolis adds a few lines in his own handwriting regarding the importance of the Mitzvah, followed by a handwritten addition from Rabbi Elimelech Elazar Ehrenberg, author of “Arzei Levanon”, who joins him in affirming the letter.
The righteous Gaon, Rabbi Yeshaya Asher Zelig Margolis (1893-1969) – the Ria”z – famed Mekubal and leader of the zealots in Yerushalayim. Studied in Yeshiva Toras Emes – Lubavitch in Chevron and became close to the Tzaddikim of Yerushalayim: the holy Gaon Rabbi Avraham Simcha Horowitz of Barnov, the Mekubal, the holy Gaon Rabbi Chaim Shaul Hakohen Dwek, and the ‘Saba Kadisha’ – Rabbi Shlomo Eliezer Alfandari. Was intimately connected with Meron and the Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai, and authored several Seforim on the subject. Rabbi Yeshaya Asher Zelig was one of the greatest fighters against Zionism and any revisionism in Judaism, and is known til today for his actions.
