The Gaon Rabbi Shmuel Heller [1803-1884] the famed Rav of Safed, a Gaon and Chossid. A descendant of the author of the Tosfot Yom Tov Rabbeinu Yom Tov Lipman Heller. He grew up in the house of the Chozeh of Lublin, received his blessings many times and merited to participate in his Seder. Immigrated to the Holy Land based on his advice in the 1810’s. Was miraculously saved during the great earthquake of 1837, and after the passing of the holy Rav Rabbi Avraham Dov of Avritch, the author of Bat Ayin, Rabbi Shmuel was appointed the Rav of Tzfas, a position he held for forty years, until his passing. Was also knowledgeable in medicine and pharmacology, bringing relief to the Jews of Tzfas.
Rabbi Avraham Leib ben Rabbi Yitzchak Dov Zilberman (1889-1947) Av Beis Din of Tzfas. Was orphaned as a child and was raised by his grandfather, Rabbi Raphael. After his marriage, he spent most his time by the Admor of Shtefansht. Starting in 1909 he served as Dayan in Tzfas. And succeeded his grandfather as Rabbi of Tzfas, a position he held for thirty years. Beginning in 1917 he served as president of the Committee for the Holy Locations in the upper Galilee and as one of the leaders of the Jewish settlement in Tzfas,
