The contents of this pamphlet had been previously published in his Sefer ‘Shalhevet Esh’ (1927), but due to the importance of the topic he republished it as a standalone, pocket-sized pamphlet, with some additions at the end.
Rabbi Gedalya, son of Rabbi Yeshaya Meir Silverstone (1871-1944), disciple of the Yeshivos of Raseiniai and Telz, was ordained by the Gedolim of his generation, including Rabbi Reines of Lida. From 1901 served as Rabbi of Belfast, Ireland. In 1904 he emigrated to the US and settled in Washington DC, where he served as a Rabbi, founding a Jewish community. Author of scores of Seforim with Chiddushim and Derashot, including ‘Pirchei Aviv’, ‘Yeshu’ah Gedolah’, ‘Tochachat Chaim’, ‘Beit Meir’, ‘Korban Pesach’ on the Haggadah, ‘Peninim Yekarim’, ‘Matok Midvash’ and more. Was a member of the “Center of Torah and Religion Disseminators” in Poland. Passed away in Jerusalem, and was buried in Har Hazeitim.
