Holy and precious treasure. Nothing will compare to it!

A living Shas!

Volumes of the Vilna Shas used by the holy Gaon Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Ehrenreich HY”D ‘the Rav of Shamloi’ during the last 15 years of his life – with his signatures and hundreds of his handwritten glosses which had never been printed before.

Nine volumes of Talmud Bavli, Vilna, Ram press, 1923-27 edition, in which the holy Gaon of Shamloi toiled and clung to with love. Some of the pages of these Gemaros are worn and faded from much use, full of sweat stains from the holy Gaon’s toil in learning and teaching the Torah, as well as some white hairs from his holy beard which he kept ensconced between the pages. Gemaros in which and through which he drew close to Hashem, clove to Him and burned with His fire.

In the glosses written on the pages of Agadeta are wonderous Kabbalistic writings from the realm of Sod, hidden for generations from the sight of man.

At the beginning of the volume of tractate Berachos is the signature of the holy Gaon of Shamloi:
“B”H Shamloi may it be protected from above. He who dwells on high has gifted me with this elegant Shas. The young Shlomo Zalman Ehrenreich Av Beis Din of here”.

In addition, a written testimony of his son:
“In tractate Kiddushin, on p. 2, there are beard hairs of my master and father OBM, HY”D”. Indeed, at the beginning of tractate Kiddushin is enshrined a clump of many white hairs from the beard of the holy Gaon of Shamloi HY”D.

An additional signature of the Gaon is found at the beginning of tractate Sotah, where there are also signatures of his grandson, Rabbi Eliezer Ehrenreich.

The holy Gaon Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Ehrenreich “Der Heiliger Shamloya Rav” (1863-1944), Av Beis Din of Shamloi (Şimleu Silvaniei). From the greatest Poskim of his generation and an exalted Tzaddik. Author of Responsa ‘Lechem Shlomo’ and close to forty other works. Grandson of the holy Gaon the ‘Kol Aryeh’, by whom he was raised and from whom he studied. From the greatest disciples of the ‘Kedushas Yom Tov’ of Sighet and of his son, the holy Gaon Rabbi Yoel of Satmar. In 1894 he was appointed as Rabbi of Tshaba, and was appointed Rav of Shamloi in mid 1899. All his years in the Rabbinate he toiled in disseminating Torah to his students, in the famous Yeshiva which he established. Even during the first years of WWII he still worked to print his works, and even wrote that “with this we show the immensity of our love for Torah”. Was martyred during the Holocaust in Auschwitz on the 11th of Sivan, 5704 (June 2, 1944) together with his family and community. Led his community with strength and might, established many regulations in various areas while being on guard against breaches in the wall of holiness. Established a Cheder and a Yeshiva, and left behind a multitude of works including “Lechem Shlomo”, “Beis Shlomo”, Eim Labina” and many others.
