Chumash Shemot with Rashi, Onkelos, and Or Hachaim, With Megillas Esther. Printed by Rabbi Moshe Shapiro, Slavuta, 1818.

Rare edition! Does not appear in the National Library. Printed with the approbation of the Ohev Yisrael of Apt.

The printing houses of Slavuta and Zhitomir, from the most renowned in the world of Chassidus, were founded in Slavuta by Rabbi Moshe Shapiro, the son of the holy Rabbi Pinchas of Koretz, and was later managed by his son Rabbi Shmuel Avraham. Further on, the print house migrated to Zhitomir, where it was operated by his famous grandsons of the Shapiro dynasty. These Seforim have special Kedusha attributed to them. It is known that the printing house employed only G-D-fearing Jews, was only used for the printing of Sifrei Kodesh, and even had a Mikveh on premises. Holy Tzaddikim were stringent to study and Daven only using Seforim printed at these printing houses, and even said that the simple fact of owning and keeping such a Sefer at home is a blessing and a Segula all by themselves.
