Rare letter from Maran the Steipler, from his earlier years in Pinsk in 1929, requesting support for the Novhardok Yeshiva in his town.
Letter of Maran the immense Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Yisrael Kanievsky, from his younger years – in 1929 – to the Gaon Rabbi Aharon Dov Alter Varanowsky, from the heads of Va’ad Hayeshivos in Vilna, requesting that they send the $13 that the Yeshiva is entitled to “and the need is great”.
It is interesting to note that the Steipler signs his name adding “הק’” before it.
