It is needless to note that Maran the Gaon Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv was one of the generation’s giant pillars of Torah, member of the High Beis Din of Appeals, member of the institutions of Agudas Yisroel, and later from the heads of the Degel Hatorah party. In his later years was the leader of the entire public that came together under the flag of the Degel Hatorah movement, and was from the leaders of the entire generation.
Signatories on the certificate on behalf of the National Center of Agudas Yisroel are from its leaders : Rabbi Shmuel Avishai Stockhammer – secretary of the Moetzes Gedolei Hatorah and a confidant of Rav Elyashiv, Rabbi Chaim Moshe Knopf – from the heads of Hamodia, and Rabbi Zev Prisand.
