Autograph in the holy handwriting of the holy Rebbe of Sochatchov, author of “Shem MiShmuel”. Chiddushim of Chassidus from his father, the glory of the generation, Sar HaTorah, Maran the holy Gaon Rabbi Avraham of Sochatchov, the “Avnei Nezer”. Undated, ca. 1920. Some of these Ma’amarim were never printed.

This manuscript had been by the Shem MiShmuel’s son, Admor Rabbi Chanoch Henich of Sochatchov, who copied most of the Ma’amarim from the manuscript, and as he wrote himself: “Pure sayings from C”K my master and grandfather, Rabbi of all the diaspora, Sar HaTorah and pure fear of G-D etc. Moreinu Rabbi Avraham TZ”L of Sochatchov – copied from the notebooks that were prepared by my father, the holy Gaon TZ”L, from writings that were left in the estate of the author ZT”L”.
These transcriptions were incorporated into the Seforim of the Rebbe’s brother, the son of the author, Rabbi Aharon Yisrael Borenstein, and most of the writings before us were printed in Sefer Ne’ot HaDeshe in various places, some with some language changes.
The holy Gaon, the Shem MiShmuel of Sochatchov (1856-1926), the only son of the holy Gaon, Sar HaTorah, the Avnei Nezer of Sochatchov, and the grandson of Maran the Saraf of Kotzk, through his mother. Admor for multitudes, his unique and expansive teachings was printed in his Sefer ‘Shem MiShmuel’, which is a continuation and a merging of the teachings of Kotzk and Parshischa, and his father’s genius teachings. Was the son-in-law of the holy Rabbi Lipman of Radomsk, of whom the holy Chiddushei HaRim requested before his passing to forge family connection with his descendants. Rabbi Lipman was the son-in-law of the holy Tzaddik, the Tiferes Shlomo of Radomsk, and was admired by all branches of Chassidus in central Poland. His sons, the Admorim Rabbi David, Rabbi Chanoch Henich, and Rabbi Aharon Yisrael Borenstein continued his legacy and printed his teachings.
