“The floodgates of heaven will open, and shower drops of life-giving dew, the gift of heaven will be for you, to a ripe old age”. Rare and hallowed letter of blessings, in poetry and prose, in the holy handwriting of the holy and famous Rabbi Wolf of Strikover, the “Zer Zahav”, from the Gedolim and Tzaddikim of the generation in Poland.
The letter was sent on occasion of the birth of a son to one of his acquaintances “My close friend, the noble confidant, honorable is his name”, and includes blessings and well-wishes for easy upbringing and much Nachas. Written, as was the custom of the holy Rabbi Zev Wolf of Strikov, in poetry and prose, with guidance and a request to not make too much publicity and commotion but to go in a quiet way, as nothing is better than the path of humbleness.
This is the unique blessing:
(The floodgates of heaven will open, and shower drops of life-giving dew, on the young child circumcised on the eighth, a gift of heaven will be for you, to a ripe old age. May you merit to raise, teach, and enlighten him. And you shal be joyful and merry, and drink your wine in good heart, but without hurrahs and shouting, for there is nothing as good as humbleness. And now bring the child into the covenant of Avraham Avinu in joy. He who loves you – Zev Wolf Landau”.
