Massively extreme rarity! A holy letter, on behalf of imprisoned soldiers, from the holy Rebbe, Rabbi Naftali Halberstam, Av Beis Din of Kshanov, son and successor of the Holy Tzaddik Rabbi David of Kshanov.
The letter was sent to the Gaon, Av Beis Din of Prague, with a request to save and sustain the people of Brix, who are at wits’ end; we are speaking of Jewish soldiers who have been imprisoned, in dire straits, and are begging their brethren to send them Matzos, wine, and kosher food for the upcoming Pesach. Dated 1915, in middle of WWI.
The Rebbe promises that whoever will assist in this important mitzvah will merit divine assistance, and the Rebbe is certain that all of the Jews of “Bihem” (Bohemia) will assist.
It appears that the entire letter is handwritten in his holy hand. The letter bears his holy signature.
