“רבון העולמים ידעתי כי הנני בידך כחומר ביד היוצר”
“Master of the worlds, I know that I am in your hand as clay in the hand of the potter”. The holy Sefer “Or Lashamayim”, by the holy Rebbe, Rabbi Meir of Apt, with the known prayer for sustenance and success made famous by the holy Tiferes Shlomo of Radomsk. First edition, Lemberg, 1850.
This holy exemplar is bound in the covers of the library of one of the great luminaries and giants of the generations,
Maran the holy Rebbe, the Imrei Emes of Ger, head of the diaspora in Poland, with the sticker that indicates his illustrious library, and it appears as #173 in the library’s catalog.
On the title page is the handwritten signature of the pride and glory of the Ger dynasty,
Maran the holy Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Meir Biederman, the illustrious son-in-law of Maran the Sfas Emes of Gur, thus being the brother-in-law of the Imrei Emes, and later becoming also his father-in-law when the Imrei Emes got married for the second time, to his daughter, the righteous Rebbetzin Mrs. Feiga Mintcha, the mother of the Pnei Menachem of Gur.
Rabbi Yaakov Meir Biederman was also the father-in-law of the Beis Yisrael in his first marriage, making him the son-in-law of the Sfas Emes, brother- and father-in-law of the Imrei Emes, uncle and father-in-law of the Beis Yisrael, and grandfather of the Pnei Menachem. This is besides for his own enormous self-value and his illustrious Yichus, as a scion of holy Geonim of Poland for generations.
At the end of the Sefer is
the important and special approbation of Maran the Gaon, the “Divrei Chaim” of Tzanz.
At the beginning of the Sefer,
for the first time, is the important and famous prayer “רבון העולמים ידעתי כי הנני בידך כחומר ביד היוצר”. The holy Rebbe, pride of the generation, the Tiferes Shlomo of radomsk said that saying this prayer is a tried and true Segula for Parnassah, protection, and success.
This promise is written as part of the frame on the title page.
The holy Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Rabin of Glagov, son of the holy Rebbe, Rabbi Asher Yeshaya and grandson of the holy Rebbe of Ropshitz promised that this is
a Segula to have G-D-fearing children.
The holy Rav, Tzaddik Yesod Olam, Rabbi Meir of Apt (passed away in 1827), disciple of the holy Rebbe of Lublin and the successor of the ‘Ohev Yisrael’ in Apt. Some of his distinct disciples were the holy Rebbe, Maran the Divrei Chaim of Tzanz and the Tiferes Shlomo of Radomsk.
