Sefer Vayakhel Moshe (Kabbalah) by the Mekubal Rabbi Moshe Graph of Prague – Dessau, 1699 – first edition – dozens of deep and lengthy Kabbalistic glosses handwritten by an ancient Mekubal – not published.
Incomplete copy.
Sefer Vayakhel Moshe was one of the first books that published the principles and depth of the Ari’s Torah (not based on Rabbi Chaim Vital’s Kabbalah but rather on that of the Mahari Sarug). The book was studied by leading Chassidic rabbis; the Maggid of Kozhnitz even wrote glosses on it and introduced its principles.
Appearing on the first leaf are two signatures of Rabbi Moshe ben Rabbi Leib Barititz of Eizgrev (near Nikolsburg, Czechoslovakia). Apparently, he is the one who wrote all (or most) of the deep glosses in this book. His signature appears a third time at the end of a gloss on leaf 13a: "הצעיר משה בר"ל".
On leaf 10b (of the first pagination), there is a gloss dated "Adar 18, 1792".
The content of the glosses indicates that their writer was most knowledgeable about the Kabbalah of the Mahari Sarug. The glosses contain version corrections alongside elucidations and deep Chidushim.
[1], 5-14; 5-44 leaves (originally: 14, 58 leaves). Missing: the first 3 leaves, leaves 1-4 of the first pagination and leaves 45-58. Leaves 30-32 were misplaced in the binding. 20 cm. Fair condition. Detached leaves. Wear. Dampness stains on some leaves. Old binding, worn and detached.
