Secret and obscure – Hashem’s secrets to those who fear him!
Bundle of letters and copies of letters from the wonderous Mekubal and Tzaddik, the Gaon Rabbi Yehuda Zerachia Segal, Rav of Kiryat Shalom in Tel Aviv, which he sent to the Lubavitcher Rebbe – Never Printed
Rabbi Segal was in constant contact by mail with the Rebbe, keeping a connection such as between a devoted disciple writing to his distinct Rebbi. Rav Segal was connected to the Rebbe with bonds of love, in a mystical connection that transcended this world.
The correspondence between the Rebbe and Rav Segal was extensive. A small part of it was printed within the volumes of the “Igros Kodesh”, with many omissions. The correspondence dealt with Rav Segal’s personal issues, with issues of the Chief Rabbinate in general and the Rabbinate of Tel Aviv inparticular, with public matters, and mainly, with Chiddushei Torah on Halacha, Agadda, Chassidus, Kabbalah, and Avodas Hashem. And above all, they dealt in the hidden realms, on the topics of Neshamos, their Aliyah, Tikkunim and revelation, items which, understandably, were never printed. Before us is a bundle of letters that were not sent to the Rebbe, as well as copies of letters which were sent, which were left as part of his estate. Most are typed up and a few are handwritten.
See the Hebrew listing for more details about the content of the letters.
This bundle also contains a letter, dated Shvat, 5715 (1955), which he sent to his friend Rabbi Baruch Shlomo Rabinowitz, where he talks extensively about the Rabbinate position which he received already in 1953. On the reverse side he tells wonderous things regarding his Shidduch. Amongst these things he describes a wonder:
“Also, it is a curious thing that Maran the Admor of Lubavitch sent me a letter of Mazel Tov immediately after my engagement without me having let him know about it.”
