Manuscript volume, Drushim on the Parshios of the Torah and sermons for Shabbos Hagadol and Shabbos Shuva – written during 1875-1883 – never printed – unknown author.
On the right side of the rear flyleaf is a notation: “I have come here, to Karlsbad, eve of Shabbos Va’etchanan, the 10th of Av 5661 (Jul. 26, 1901) to seek reprieve and succor. Signed in the midst of night, night of Thursday Shoftim, eve of Rosh Chodesh Elul”.
On the left side is written: “Here, Vienna the capital city, Motzae’I Shabbos (Ki) Tavo 5661, 17th of Elul, the vanguard of the months of that year (Sep. 1, 1901).”
Quoted in this volume are scores of classic Seforim of Drush and Pilpul, such as “Parshas Derachim”, “Binah LaItim”, and “Ya’aros Devash”, and the author follows in their paths. The only Chassidic Sefer that is quoted many times is “Arvei Nachal”.
In the first half of the volume are lengthy sermons which the author gave on Shabbos Hagadol and Shabbos Shuva, and the other half is short Derushim on the Parshios of the Torah.
On one of the rear flyleaves is a notation in Latin letters which mentions the city Brăila. This is a port city on the western shore of the Danube, in Brăila county, south-eastern Romania.
